Escultura de yeso con interior de espuma y diversas técnicas de producción entre las que podríamos incluir: talla, construcción y modelado. Partimos de un bloque de espuma de poliuretano (gomaespuma) que, en este caso, se trataba de un colchón viejo. Siempre que se pueda se debe usar material reciclado.
La espuma se talló con herramientas cortantes (trincheta, sierra, tijera) hasta darle forma de figura humana; luego preparé yeso y lo fui aplicando con lamas, espatulas, pero en especial con las manos; esto se realiza en varias capas hasta que la espuma quede revestida de una cobertura de un espesor de por lo menos quince milímetros y durante este proceso le fui agregando partes previamente preparadas por vaciado (manos, cabezas,…) y finalmente le di un poco de pulidos, cortes, tallas, etc., que permitieron el resultado que estamos viendo en esta foto aunque todavía está inconclusa.
Este trabajo ha sido un ciento por ciento experimentación y me resultó muy gratificante ir viendo los giros que iba tomando el desarrollo de la obra a medida que avanzaba. Bueno, disfruten un poco de mi “estuata”.
